Shout out to Montrose Primary Support Staff!

Nicknamed “King George”, Mr George Malima has worked at Montrose Primary School for a mammoth 30 years!

Mr Malima says that the best part about his job is the setting up of events so that when the visitors arrive, they can see that it is well organised and professional:

“I have a tremendous team behind me with nine staff doing various jobs. At Montrose, we have amazing people who really make us feel like part of a big family and have allowed me to DREAM BIG! I love the learners here – they show respect for their elders which is very important. My job is a busy one, so when I’m not working I spend my time relaxing with my family.”

Principal, Mrs Sonette van Loggerenberg, bursts with pride when it comes to the school’s support staff:

“The success of any school depends on teamwork and the role that our support staff play is of particular importance. Whether it is keeping the school clean, maintaining our buildings and equipment, set up and break down of events or just the general daily duties, we cannot be the best without our behind-the-scenes team. Mr Malima and his team embody our ethos: they are proud, professional and passionate, serving the learners, parents and teachers with everything they have, every single time. A warm thank you to Mr George Malima, Ms Violet Kekana, Mrs Josephina Molepo, Mr Simeon Zondi, Mr Frank Malima, Mr Gert Maphupha, Mr Louis Phaswana, Mr Timothy Motaung, Mr Frans Temo and Ms Zandile Zondi for all that you do for Montrose Primary School.”
