Pre-Primary Report – 2007
The 2007 intake settled
quickly and happily. They have proved to be a spirited and enthusiastic
group. The year was filled with activities, shows and outings, which exposed
the children to a variety of experiences.

During the first term, we held
our Valentine's Raffle and Easter Egg Hunt. It was a lovely evening, enjoyed
by all and the weather was very kind to us. Farmer Boschoff's visit, a
favourite with the Grade R's, was very exciting. He brought a wide variety
of his wonderful animals, which the children were allowed to feed and touch.
|
Events in term two included a
visit by the SPCA, where children were taught to look after their pets.
Blankets and donations were collected by the children for the SPCA. A visit
by the Shadow Theatre proved to be an enthralling experience for the
children as was a visit by Auntie Sue and all her musical instruments. The
‘Traffic Kids’ paid us a visit and spent a morning with the children, where
they were taught the rules of the road and then afforded the opportunity to
show off their driving skills.

Their first ever Sports Day
taught them all sorts of new skills such as the correct position in which to
start a race. Their interpretation of this position was entertaining to say
the least. They learnt how to stay in their lanes and to be good sports both
in winning and losing. A great time was had by all.
Spring Day is Big Walk Day. The ever enthusiastic Grade R’s were very busy
collecting sponsors for their Big Walk and doing very well indeed. There was
face painting, water points and digging for treasure along the way. They
also carried a survival pack consisting of a fruit juice and Super C’s to
give them the energy to see this arduous walk through to the end.
A visit to ‘The Children's Farm’ in Pretoria proved to be very exciting.

The fourth term
was very busy with a Celebration Day, a visit to the People’s Theatre to see
the “Jungle Book” and a Christmas play - “Wake-up Santa!” Both parents and
children enjoyed the evening.
After 4 years as the Grade R Green Group teacher, Mr Durbach has decided
that it is time to dedicate herself to her family. We wish her luck and are
going to miss her.
The year was very busy and a wonderful success and, again, this was only
made possible by the contributions of a dedicated staff. Thanks go to Mrs
Ridley, Mrs Durbach, Miss Ntshole, Mr Ndlovu, Mrs Carty, and Mr Leaf-wright.
A huge thank you to Mrs Blase, our secretary. We are all fortunate to have
her. Once again, a big thank you goes to Mrs Buschberger and the Governing
Body for their support.
